The Yankees Stadium grounds crew covers the field with tarp as rain postpones Tuesday’s game.

Don Mattingly’s first game in the Bronx as manager of the Dodgers was pushed back one day, as Tuesday’s series opener between the Yankees and Los Angeles was postponed by rain.

The game will be made up as the front end of a day-night doubleheader Wednesday at the Stadium.

Joe Girardi said Hiroki Kuroda will start the first game, with Tuesday’s scheduled starter, Phil Hughes, pitching the nightcap
