Hey football fans: Pocketbooks are getting sacked.
The National Football League has ordered a blitz against big purses, backpacks, coolers and bags at all of its stadiums as the 2013 preseason approaches — so if you’re a fan who can’t live without your ginormous Gucci, you’ll be ejected from the game.
“Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size,” read a statement the NFL released Thursday.

Guests visiting the NFL’s stadiums won’t be allowed to bring in bags much bigger than the palm of a person’s hand, and men who rely on their wives and girlfriends to hold car keys will have to leave the items in their cars or their pockets.
Permitted bags include clutches about the size of one’s hand, clear plastic gallon freezer bags or small PVC bags. Large medically necessary bags will be allowed — after a search.
The NFL Committee on Stadium Security unanimously recommended the measure in May — in part due to the Boston Marathon bombings.
“This NFL ban affects men too,” tweeted Tony Hernandez of Arizona. “Who’s going to carry my keys?”
