B-U-S-H, Bush Bush Bush!
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson will host a high-profile Republican dinner for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush later this month.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush may use the dinner to gauge with wealthy New York Republicans for a possible 2016 run.
The dinner will offer Bush an opportunity to showcase his new book “Immigration Wars” and gauge interest from wealthy New Yorkers for a potential 2016 White House bid, according to Politico.
Bush is rumored to be considering a 2016 presidential run. He has frequently spoken out in recent weeks about the need for comprehensive immigration reform, urging his GOP colleagues in the House to act on a bill that was passed overwhelmingly by the Senate.
Bush will also likely use the dinner to plug his new book, “Immigration Wars.”
Johnson and his wife Suzanne will hold the dinner July 23 at their New York home.
Johnson, a Republican, has acted before as a prominent fundraiser for the party’s presidential candidates.
In 2012, he helped raise money for Republican candidate Mitt Romney and in 2008 he was named the chief fundraiser for the party’s national convention in Minneapolis.
